Ybarra-Williams, Marisa

Marisa Ybarra - Williams joined Ray Peña McChristian in 2013 as a litigation associate after practicing with a small civil litigation firm in El Paso, Texas. Marisa is a trial attorney experienced in representing construction, corporate, industry, transportation, and commercial clients. She has successfully resolved six and seven-figure exposure cases both in State and Federal Court.

Since 2013, Marisa has tried premises liability, employment discrimination/retaliation, transportation/railroad, construction, and wrongful death/catastrophic injury cases. As first chair, she obtained a defense verdict in a case where Plaintiff sought seven figures in damages. She has served as first chair in multiple fatality cases where Plaintiffs sought eight figures in damages. Given her unconventional presence and ability to connect with juries, Marisa frequently assist other firm attorneys at trial across the State. Marisa's experience ranges from being the 1st attorney on the scene to serving as trial counsel - and everything in between.

While in law school, Marisa was employed as a law clerk with a civil litigation firm in downtown Austin, Texas, she was a legal intern for the Honorable Kathleen Cardone, District Judge, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas and the Honorable Phil Martinez, District Judge, U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. While attending the University of Texas at El Paso, she was a legal intern for the Texas 8th Court of Appeals. Prior to attending law school, Marisa enjoyed a career in politics and worked for political campaigns ranging from the President of the United States to local school board races.
